New Fellowship Prepares Next Generation of Pediatric Radiologists
Richmond, VA - February 2024 - The VCU Department of Radiology is excited to introduce a new fellowship in Pediatric Radiology at the Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU. The fellowship offers a balanced curriculum that integrates comprehensive clinical training with research and teaching in the specialized field of pediatric radiology.
The Pediatric Radiology fellowship, under the direction of program director Eman Mahdi, M.D., is a new fellowship aimed at graduating the next generation of pediatric radiologists who excel at providing the highest quality of care to pediatric patients within the communities they serve.
"I am deeply excited to launch the Pediatric Radiology fellowship at VCU, a program designed to stand out for its excellence. Our fellows will thrive under the mentorship of our exceptional faculty, a close-knit team dedicated to delivering superior pediatric care. At the Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU, fellows will be immersed in a learning environment equipped with cutting-edge technology and supported by an extensive network of subspecialty-trained experts. We are committed to ensuring our fellows excel in managing both routine and complex cases, leaving our program with the confidence and versatility to excel in any setting," says Dr. Eman Mahdi.
The fellows will train under the supervision of experienced radiologists, using the latest medical advances in procedures and technology to improve their skills in providing excellent radiological care. At the completion of the one-year program, fellows will be qualified to practice in the subspecialty field of pediatric radiology.
Mahdi further explains, "The initiation of our Pediatric Radiology fellowship is a milestone in enhancing vital radiological services. Our program is a beacon for aspiring radiologists eager to make a significant impact in pediatric care. With the recent expansion of the Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU, our fellows are positioned at the forefront of pediatric health, benefiting from unparalleled resources and collaborative opportunities across every pediatric subspecialty.
